Many people were evacuated to eight evacuation centres on the Island of Youth, Cuba, the predicted first landfall of Gustav.
The town of Cocodrilo may be the most affected and is now deserted as all people have been evacuated to Santa Fe along with trucks with containers for personal effects. Repeat: the town of Cocodrilo (means Crocodile in Spanish) is fully evacuated.
