Comments: Reports were collected and translated from the Cuban News Agency and Radio Havanna by PJ2BR-Brett in the Netherland Antilles: Radio Havanna reports sustained winds of 240 KM/Hour. It did not say whether it was estimated or measured. Isle of Youth sustained the most serious damage with several oil rigs to the East of the Isle of Youth significantly damaged. Cuban News Agency reports that the eastern part of Pinar Del Rio was severely hit with the worst incident since 1946. They reported a maximum gust of 340 KM/Hour (did not state whether its estimated or measured) and that was at 615 PM CDT/715 PM EDT. They report no loss of life but that there was signifciant agricultural and electrical damage and that various roofs were blown off structures.
