Comments: Detailed observation from Carib Network: Everyone's pretty much hunkered down. Omar has been strengthening steadily thru-out the night and early morning and is now at 122 mph (1 min average) which makes it a modest cat 3. Its currently moving thru the BVI/Leeward Island passage pass its closest point to St. Martin and then Anguilla. Last report from an associate in Virgin Goda at 2:25 EST a sustained wind of 35 mph with higher gusts from NE, and west side beach with 2-3 foot swells. Lime Tree Bay (St. Croix) still reporting tropical storm wind conditions and mod showers. Grand Case, St. Martin reported a gust of 48 mph at around 1:46 EST. Satelite presentation on IR remained good with a large canopy. A strong convective mass is situated just west of the Northern Leeward islands.
